PISCATAWAY, N.J. –With the highly anticipated 2022-23 Scarlet Knights men's basketball season on the horizon, Rutgers Athletics has updated its student ticket claim policy to enhance the game day experience.
Students who purchase the Rutgers Student Ticket Combo Pack will have exclusive windows throughout the 2022-23 season to claim their tickets in advance of the general student population. Combo pack holders will be the only students with an opportunity to claim tickets in advance online prior to each game.There will be 2 claim windows for combo pack buyers. Beginning October 20, students can claim tickets for all November & December Men's Basketball games while the claim for the January thru March games will open on December 13.
For all other students who are non-combo pack buyers, tickets will be available on a first come, first serve basis on the day of game at Jersey Mike's Arena. The student window located at the front box office will open two hours prior to each game where students will be able to claim their tickets.
"The demand for student tickets for basketball games at Jersey Mike's Arena has continued to grow dramatically," saidJoe Rafanelli, assistant athletic director of ticketing and data analytics. "We analyzed our prior claim process and determined that making this adjustment would reduce the potential for no-shows and maximize the number of student tickets available per game. It's an exciting time around Rutgers Athletics and we want to do all that we can to make sure our students have the opportunityto enjoy the experience."
The team's success on the court has garnered great interest from the fan base. Rutgers men's basketball is coming off a season where the team set a record for sell outs (15) at Jersey Mike's Arena. In the 2021-22 season, the Scarlet Knights set a record number of season tickets sold (5,093) and are already pacing to surpass that number once again for 2022-23 season. The program has already broken last year'srecord for season tickets sold this year (5,923) and expects to break each of those records and sell out for every home game this season.
