I'm divided between picking up a beloved game I didn't get a chance to finish inAlan Wake 2, or trying something completely new inDragon Age: The Veilguard. Nonetheless, I think the experience will be taken to a whole new level with the enhancements the PS5 Pro is said to offer.

I'm a sucker for fantasy, so I'd love to create an RPG that is fantasy-forward, with tons of lore and combat, and plenty of mythological creatures. The over-the-top violence and fun driving mechanics comprised a simple but ridiculously fun concept that led to a lot of games in the late 90s and 2000s, but we haven't heard barely a peep since 2012. With all the leaps in technology since the PS3 era, a bombastic, modernized remake of the firstTwisted Metalgame could do wonders to reboot the series' popularity and make for a good competitor in the relatively sparse party racing genre.

Who Is Your Favorite PlayStation Character and Why?

Even though I started out gaming withCrash Bandicoot, I think I grew to love Spyro more as a character. The lack of dialogue, while incredibly charming, kind of leaves Crash a little behind Spyro as far as character depth and development are concerned. With that said, I wouldn't have that furry little guy any other way.I'd give a special mention to Kratos, though. What Santa Monica managed to do to almost introduce us to a new man in the 2018 revival was really impressive. I love both versions ofGod Of War, and they're so different that I find it difficult to compare experiences.

What Are You Currently Playing?

I'm currently between an old favorite and a new release! With the remaster ofHorizon: Zero Dawndropping, I've got another excuse to dive into Aloy's story and boy, what a great story it is. On the other hand, I've also got a lore-rich and content-heavy RPG inDragon Age: The Veilguardon my PlayStation, so I'll be kept pretty preoccupied getting through both of these big franchise installments!

Being an avid reader and movie fan, I naturally gravitated towards titles that would tell a deep story when I really started to get into gaming, so I'd say RPGs. Pretty much all of my favorites, such astheBatman: ArkhamandGod of Warfranchises andSkyrimall left lasting impressions on me with their ability to let me feel like I was part of the very tale unfolding before me.

Hands down, the best racing experience I ever had on PlayStation wasNeed For Speed: Underground 2. Graphics might've improved since then, and the gameplay might be smoother, but nothing will top the range of game modes, customization and that absolutely banging soundtrackUndergound 2had! Entries close November 12, 2024, at 11:59pm PT!As much as having a wired controller can be a nice backup if you forget to charge your wireless controllers, I really don't miss how short some of those cords were and how easily they could get tangled on furniture. The originalPS1 controller was so short you almost had to sit on the floor next to the console, which was also on the floor. Eventually wireless controllers became the norm and the PS5 completely phased out wired controllers. It's a bit like the transition from wired headphones to Bluetooth headphones across the tech industry - I don't miss getting all these cords mixed up as much as I thought I would.

What’s Something You Miss About Old PlayStation Consoles?

As digital storefronts gradually take over the entire market, I can't help but miss the feeling of getting a physical copy that had a book inside of it! Whether it had story and lore, controls, or simply concept art, I loved checking out the reading material they added to physical game copies. I haven't experienced the excitement of picking up a pre-order sinceCrash Bandicoot's remastered trilogy. You just can't beat it.

What's The Scariest Game You've Played On PlayStation?

Admittedly, I've never really been drawn to horror games, just as I've never been an avid fan of horror films, but everyone I ask tells me thatAmnesia: The Dark Descentcertainly gets hearts racing. What Are Your Initial Thoughts on Fortnite OG?

I'm feeling nostalgic thanks to the OG sounds and weapons, so it's been really nice so far. However, the only down side is how many of the OG sweats are playing this mode and taking me out in a flash, especially now that double-pump is back.

What Are Your Thoughts On Marvel Rivals' Hero Designs?

I'm not a fan of the comically bulky look that characters like Captain America, Wolverine, and the Punisher have, but I'm absolutely in love with the rest. Moon Knight, Iron Fist, Hawkeye, and Star-Lord are probably my four favorite heroes in Marvel Rivals in terms of looks alone.
