Despite a trend towards DLC for major AAA singleplayer games, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor has avoided the bandwagon. Whilst Jedi Survivor's peers have gone full throttle with their DLC releases, the title has no such major expansion on the way—and that might just be for the best.
God of War Ragnarok released free DLC shortly after a big showing at The Game Awards. Final Fantasy 16 and FNAF: Security Breach also received major DLCs earlier this year. In addition, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy 16, and Alan Wake 2 all have DLC content in their pipeline. Jedi Survivor, though, has received no announcement of additional gameplay content, though that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Jedi Survivor May Not Need DLC
However, it might be best for Jedi Survivor to go without any downloadable add-ons. It's not too late for DLC to be announced as the title is still fresh in the minds of many gamers, but there are more than a few good reasons for the game to remain as it is. Not only does it already have a sequel in its pipeline, but many players don't want to keep shelling out money for extra content in the increasingly competitive AAA scene. While there's certainly much interest in a Jedi Survivor DLC, it could be better left behind at this point.
There Still Needs To Be Room For Jedi Survivor's Sequel
It's important to note that Jedi Survivor will be receiving a sequel. This is not at all a reason to shun DLC by itself, but it builds a case as to why it could be unnecessary. Though it could be a good idea to maintain momentum between releases, this didn't stop Jedi Survivor from doing well despite a 4-year gap between itself and Fallen Order; as Star Wars games will almost always sell well. On the other hand, DLC could diminish hype through over-exposure. Many are already beginning to feel fatigue surrounding the Star Wars brand. A recent deluge of shows on Disney+, some of which have received lukewarm responses, has seen the franchise suffering from oversaturation. If Jedi Survivor wants to stand out, it might be better off releasing a full sequel after gamers have had the opportunity to crave the series once more.
If hypothetical DLC is overpriced, this could also dissuade fans from buying a sequel—given that the sequel will also likely be $70.
Another thing going against Jedi Survivor DLC, as far as time is concerned, is the matter of technical issues. Jedi Survivor saw backlash at launch for its poor optimization. Its PC port was poorly received by fans for its low framerates on high-end hardware, something bad enough for Respawn to issue an apology for. This factors into the question of DLC in an important way; if resources are split between a sequel and downloadable content, it will create the optics (if not the reality) of inadequate time being given to both releases. It's essential that Respawn gives the sequel to Jedi Survivor enough time in the oven to avoid this controversy a second time.
Jedi Survivor Is Already Enough Of A Game
Moreover, Jedi Survivor is a game plenty big enough to be played for years. Prior to its release, Jedi Survivor was noted for its file size. Its immense file size is not only indicative of its graphical fidelity, but the 50+ hours of gameplay that span a 100% playthrough. Speedruns and challenge runs are still ongoing in the title's community, such as the competition surrounding the double Oggdo Bogdo fight. There's more than enough to keep players entertained without DLC.
With the exciting possibilities inherent to Jedi Survivor's sequel, ranging from gameplay to storytelling, there's no real need for DLC. Despite the popularity of downloadable content among other AAA singleplayer games, Jedi Survivor ought to stick to its guns and not detract focus from its sequel.
