L on Peanut: Kids club at LA fitness? (2024)

My little guy is 10 months old and I'm debating taking him to the LA fitness kids club while I workout. Anyone else try it?? This momma needs to get back in the gym

I tried the LA fitness kids club but my son hated it. He cried nonstop and they would call me in after 7 min. That was just my experience but I’ve found a great program that I can do from home now. Used to LOVE the gym but it just doesn’t fit in my mom schedule now 🥲

I would try going before he wakes up (easier said than done) depending on your work schedule. I wake up at 4 and wake up from 4:45-6 so I get home around 6:30 and he wakes up around 7-7:30 so I’m able to even shower after but I know that may not be something everyone has the time for in the morning. (Obviously there is another adult home with the baby while I’m at the gym)

@Miky dang you're super mom! Do you not think kids club is a good idea? I work from home and can go to the gym whenever and my husband is a SAHD. So I can go easily. I just thought it would be nice to give my husband a break and get the baby some social time while I workout. Just curious who's had experiences with it

I've been using the kids club since my son was 10 months old, I think it all depends on the person working. The girl who works at mine in the mornings is amazing! It took a while for my son to not cry, I had to keep leaving him at increments to work on his separation anxiety and she was just so great about it. Now he loves it! Has tons of fun! I do try and go earlier before there's a ton of kids in so he's not overwhelmed.

@Jenna good to know! Yeah my 10 month old has zero separation anxiety. I could give him to a stranger walking on the street and leave and he'd be happy

@Laura I'm sure he'd do great then! They have lots to play with and usually a bunch of kids, it can be really fun and, in my experience, they keep it really clean too.

I am back at L.A fitness and I have been taking my son during the hours that the kids club is open. So usually I go in the morning. My son cries because he knows that I’m going to leave him for a bit. As soon as I go work out he stops crying and I usually am across from the stair master so I can see him for a bit .He was left on the stroller the entire time. I was told a week later that they are not allowed to feed him. I was like… um ok. For the most part my son was calm and depending if there is less kids she will walk around with him. It just depends on the person. Every day I go it’s someone different and often times they’re staring at the computer. I notice as soon as any kid cries they contact the parent immediately. So it’s frustrating for some moms because they have less to no time to work out.

Also I feed mine before I hit the gym

At that age, my kids did just fine at the LA Fitness daycare and other gym daycares. They have been going since they were about 5 months. They didn't start crying when I left until they were about 19 months, since this was when they started their phase of being clingy and stranger danger.I'd say to just give it a try, and see how your LO does.

My son loves kids club at La fitness. We live in Kirkland wa. I started taking him there at about 12 months old, and he’s 3.5 yrs now and still loves it.
