A beloved community member has left us, leaving a void in the hearts of many. Sheila Elliott's passing is a sad reminder of life's fragility.
Sheila Gwendolyn Elliott, aged 75, bid farewell to this world on October 7, 2025, at her home in Dawsonville. Born in 1951 to Herbert and Bobbie Goswick, she was a true Dawson County native. As a co-owner of Ernie Elliott, Inc., Sheila was a dedicated businesswoman. But her true passion lay in her family, whom she cherished deeply, and her hobbies, including traveling, music, and cooking.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her son, Casey Elliott, a loss that must have been deeply felt.
Sheila leaves behind a loving family: her devoted husband of over five decades, Ernie Elliott; her children, Julie and Matthew Hamby, and Nicki Elliott and Brad Davis; her sister, Linda G. Townley; and her grandchildren, Chris, Brianna, Emma Hamby, Devin, Elizabeth, and Sarah Knight, among other cherished relatives.
The community will gather to lay Sheila to rest on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Sawnee View Gardens. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Chase Elliott Foundation, a cause close to their hearts. You can contribute online at www.chaseelliott.com/foundation or send your support by mail.
And here's where you can share your condolences and memories: www.beardenfuneralhome.com. The family finds solace in knowing that Sheila's life will be celebrated and remembered.
But what makes a life well-lived? Is it the success of our endeavors, the love we share, or the memories we leave behind? Perhaps it's a combination of all these and more. Let's celebrate Sheila's life and reflect on the impact we can have on others. Share your thoughts and keep Sheila's memory alive.
