A Lot or a Little?
What you will—and won't—find in this movie.

Positive Messages
very little
Alongside the extreme gore, the movie manages to ask interesting questions about people's general fascination with, and acceptance of, all things horrific, from Halloween costumes and decorations to more morbid obsessions. It seems to wonder where someone might draw the line between being entertained and being horrified.

Positive Role Models
a little
Sienna looks after her brother and comes to his rescue. She's creative and responsible, even if she has a few normal teen hang-ups. She claims that she won't drink at her Halloween party, but she does succumb to peer pressure.
-
Diverse Representations
a little
The movie is largely female-driven, the exceptions being Sienna's younger brother and Art himself. Some characters of color appear in supporting or background roles, notably the clerk at the Halloween store.

Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Terrifier 2 is the sequel to the 2016 horror movie about a vicious, evil killer clown. This one is longer and smarter than its predecessor and has stronger characters, but it's extraordinarily, relentlessly gory. Faces and bodies are slashed, mutilated, defiled in various ways, and reduced to bloody pulp. Characters are shot and killed, and body parts are ripped off, torn out, or mangled. Various weapons are used. There's an ultra-gory, highly disturbing nightmare sequence, and much, much more. Language is also very strong, with uses of "f--k," "s--t," "a--hole," bitch," and more. There's a brief glimpse of a man's naked bottom and the side of a woman's breast, as well as sex-related dialogue and innuendo. At a Halloween party, teens drink, take "Molly," smoke cigarettes, and snort cocaine. To stay in the loop on more movies like this, you can sign up for weekly Family Movie Night emails.
What's the Story?
In TERRIFIER 2, a year has passed since Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) committed his brutal slayings. Now he's somehow come back to Miles County -- accompanied by a ghostly, demonic young girl clown (Georgia MacPhail) -- just in time for Halloween. Art starts his killings once again, but soon he turns his sights on siblings Sienna (Lauren LaVera) and Jonathan (Elliott Fullam), who live with their harried single mother (Sarah Voigt). Sienna is working on an intricate fantasy costume based on drawings their late father had made, while Jonathan has more morbid obsessions. On Halloween night, Sienna goes out partying, but when Jonathan is kidnapped by the clowns, she must head to the old, abandoned amusem*nt park and try to save the day.
