Highlights
Raunheimer Waldsee
Bike Touring Highlight
The quarry lake in Raunheim is surrounded by forest on all sides, which makes it particularly beautiful. In summer you can also swim on a large sandy beach. The water skiing facility provides more action on the water. There is always something going on at Raunheim Lake and a trip is definitely worth it. The beach is open from mid-May to mid-September, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays it opens at 8 a.m. Admission costs 2.50 euros for adults and 1.20 euros for children.

Hessen - Langener Waldsee (Strandbad)
Bike Touring Highlight
The largest lake in the Rhine-Main region, with its 58 hectares, is only 15 km south of Frankfurt. 900 meters of sandy beach offer plenty of space for swimmers and surfers. Here is also very much like camping and fishing. The lake has opened its doors to bathers around May and September.

Walldorfer Badesee
Mountain Biking Highlight
The Walldorf bathing lake is a real alternative to the Langener Waldsee. Smaller, not so crowded, somehow more relaxed (I used to have the whole lake to myself after it was still raining in the morning). On the southern shore at the entrance there is a large sandy beach with a snack bar, sanitary facilities, beach volleyball and a barbecue area. There are many trees to the east (hammock...), steps and paths lead down to many small bathing bays. FKK is popular in the north. And in the middle of the lake there is a small bathing island.
What can be annoying is the proximity to the freeway - you hear it all the time.
Bathing season is around the beginning of May - September, then the entrance fee is €2.50/€1.50 and there is a boat lifeguard. Outside the season, the lake is freely accessible at your own risk.EDIT: In 2019, for reasons of liability law, it was reclassified from a bathing lake to a bathing area. Since then there has usually been no lifeguard supervision, no bathing island either, free entry except for parking. Somehow different now. 🤔translated by•View Original

Bornbruchsee
Bike Touring Highlight
At the lake you can ride a bike and be close to nature. In the summer it is worth cooling off in the clear water of the lake. You do not even have to bring your bathing suit with you. The lake is especially popular with nudists.

NSG Schultheis-Weiher
Bike Touring Highlight
Originally there was a gravel pit here. At the end of the 1970s it became a local recreation area. On the shore of the bathing lake there is a large lawn with a small nudist area on its west side, showers and sanitary facilities. Access to the lake is free. During the bathing season between May and September there is a bathing supervision from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., outside of this time bathing is prohibited. The quality of the water is monitored by the Offenbach Health Department.

Kinzigsee-Ruhlsee
Bike Touring Highlight
There is a path between the two lakes, so you can walk around each lake individually if you want. While you can observe many water birds in the bird sanctuary at Ruhlsee, Lake Kinzig is ideal for swimming in summer. On hot days you can take a short break at the lido, sunbathe on the sandy beach and jump into the cool water of the lake.
The lido is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from the end of May to the end of August. Entry costs 4 euros for adults and 2.30 euros for young people. Children up to 5 years pay no admission.

Beach pool Rodgau
Bike Touring Highlight
Between the districts of Dudenhofen and Nieder-Roden is picturesque in a sheltered valley that already almost 40 years ago from the Rodgau Monotones in their song "St. Tropez am Baggersee" highly praised bathing paradise of the city.
The fine sandy beach with adjoining lawns is divided into a textile and a nudist area, and in both areas there are swimmers and non-swimmers with bathing islands and DLRG supervision. The water playground for small and large children completes the recreational pleasure as well as the beach volleyball facility with three fields and the adjacent large skate park. Kiosk, snack bar and observation deck, showers and sanitary facilities, a gazebo with baby changing room and disabled toilet as well as parking for 1,660 cars and extra areas for motorcycles and bicycles complete the offer. Another kiosk and a beach volleyball court are located in the nudist area.
