How to use Orthodontic Tip on Waterpik? ›

How to use: Gently glide the tip along the gumline, pausing briefly to lightly brush the area between the teeth and all around the orthodontic bracket or appliance, then proceed to the next tooth.

An easy and effective way to clean and floss braces and improve gum health is to use a WATERPIK water flosser with the Orthodontic Tip. It is clinically proven more effective than dental floss for people with braces. Learn more about how to floss with braces using a WATERPIK water flosser.

We recommend replacing the Classic Jet Tip, Implant Denture Tip, and Tongue Cleaner every 6 months because mineral deposits can collect and reduce performance over time. For tips with bristles, we recommend replacing every 3 months.

The Orthodontic Tip has a tapered brush on the end to help remove plaque from braces and orthodontics. It also helps flush out bacteria and food debris from around teeth and under the gums.

The ideal time to use a Waterpik is before you brush your teeth. This is because doing so can allow you to remove food debris and plaque. When you use a Waterpik before brushing your teeth, teeth brushing becomes more effective.

Should a Waterpik Touch Your Teeth? The water flosser shouldn't touch your teeth or your gums directly. Hold the water flosser away from your teeth and let the water do the work.
