How do I open an archive file? ›

If you cannot open your ARCHIVE file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ARCHIVE file directly in the browser: Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Browse to your program's Data folder, which is located in the Documents directory by default, and open the Archives folder. Locate the Archive folder with the name of the file that you're hoping to recover and open it. Open the most recently saved file in this folder.

For Windows, archive a folder by right-clicking the folder, then selecting Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder. On Mac, right-click the folder, then select File > Compress. This will create a zipped copy of the folder. To unzip the folder: double-click it (macOS), or right-click > Extract All (Windows).

Your download history is a convenient way for you to find and keep track of all the mods you have downloaded on Nexus Mods, be it via manual download, or via our mod manager Vortex. To find your download history, simply click on 'Mods' from the main menu of the site, and click "Download history".

Archive files are used to collect multiple data files together into a single file for easier portability and storage, or simply to compress files to use less storage space.

To extract the contents of an archive, right-click the folders inside the archive, and perform either a copy and paste, or a drag and drop of the contents to any directory outside of the archive.

Depending on your email provider or company's policy, your deleted messages may be permanently purged from your trash folder automatically (often after 30 days). Your Archive folder is never automatically emptied. Any email you see in either the trash or archive folder can be moved back to your inbox folder.

Mods are stored in the Nexus mods folder (the actual downloaded archives) and installed to the Fallout 4 data folder.

To back up your mods, click either the "Modlist Backup All Games" or "Modlist backup Only This Game". This will open up a save file window that asks you to open a file, but instead of opening an existing file you want to save to one that doesn't exist yet.
