Is a D+ passing at USC? ›

The University of South Carolina grades on a standard 4.0 grading system. A, B, C, D represent passing grades in order from highest to lowest. B+, C+, D+ may also be recorded. F represents failing performance.

Letter grades have the following numeric equivalents for each unit: B+ = 3.3.

In courses listed in the UC Davis General Catalog as being letter graded, passing quality means of D- quality or better. This standard holds in such courses whether or not the student has elected to take the course on a Passed/Not Passed (P/NP) or Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) basis.

Note: You can view your Study Period and Cumulative GPA in USC Central by selecting Grades, or find them on your Unofficial Academic Record. Your Program GPA is calculated when you graduate and is based on all courses studied during your enrolment in the program(s) in which you are being graduated.

If your teacher or professor uses a total points system, you first need to add up all of your grades. Then, add up how many points were possible for each of those grades. Divide how many points you earned by the number of points possible, and you will determine your class grade.

Average GPA: 3.83

This makes USC Extremely Competitive for GPAs. (Most schools use a weighted GPA out of 4.0, though some report an unweighted GPA. With a GPA of 3.83, USC requires you to be near the top of your class, and well above average.

Unauthorized Withdrawal (WU) - Indicates a student did not withdraw from the course and failed to complete course requirements. The symbol is equivalent to an F.

Can I get into UC Davis with a 2.8 GPA? ›

You must earn at least a 2.40 GPA in your UC-transferable classes to meet UC requirements; California non-residents must earn at least a 2.80 GPA. However, UC Davis requires a minimum 2.80 GPA to be selected for admission, and many of our most popular programs may require a higher GPA.

The “IP” (In Progress) grade was designed for use for an entire course or section that extends beyond the normal end date for the semester. The “IP” grade does not replace the “I” (Incomplete) grade entirely.

Like many highly selective universities, we conduct a comprehensive, holistic review of your application to consider academic and personal characteristics. We will review your performance in school, the rigor of your program, your writing skills and any test scores you choose to submit.

After a decision has been made, you will be emailed, and your official notification will be available at youSC. You will be contacted if anything further is required from you in order to complete your review. Decisions are issued for the Fall term anytime between January and the end of June.

Only scores received electronically from the testing service are considered official. USC does not accept self-reported test scores or paper scores sent via postal mail. If you are sending GRE scores: USC's ETS school code is 4852. Use this code to ensure that USC receives your official test results.
