Popeyes Just Brought Back Its Fan-Favorite Fish Sandwich (2024)

We’ve been seeing a lot of fish sandwiches making their way back to fast food menus lately and we’re not complaining. These limited-time offerings typically arrive in time for the Lenten season, but also happen to be some of our favorite sandwiches all year long. Wendy’s Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich returned to menus this week, joining the ranks of Burger King's new Fiery Big Fish Sandwich and Arby’s Crispy Fish Sandwich, which fans call the “best fast food sandwich by far.”

Now, Popeyes is getting in on the action. Sure, this fast food chain may be known for its chicken, but it also serves up some solid seafood options, too. Its seasonal fish sandwich in particular is a favorite that fans are welcoming back with excitement.

Popeyes' Flounder Fish Sandwich Is Back

Popeyes recently welcomed its Flounder Fish Sandwich back to the menu just in time for Lent. This sandwich features a breaded and fried flounder filet that gets topped with pickles and sauce and served on a brioche bun. You can choose to order this sandwich as a Classic with tartar sauce or as a Spicy with spicy mayo.

The Flounder Fish Sandwich first debuted back in 2021 and continues to pop back up on menus right around this time each year, much to fans' delight.

On a recent Reddit thread, many commented on the sandwich’s return, asking why “can’t it be permanent,” and saying it's “definitely one of the best fish sandwiches out there.” On the Popeyes Instagram post announcing its return, fans were quick to comment “I sincerely hope you consider making this menu item a permanent offering,“ and “My only gripe with the Flounder Fish Sandwich is its limited-time availability.“

You can also nab the Shrimp Tackle Box Combo right now, which returned to the Popeyes menu alongside the fish sandwich. This eight-piece meal of fried butterfly shrimp comes with a side (think: coleslaw or Cajun fries), a biscuit, and a small soft drink.
