How to Get Shock Fruit in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Shock Fruit is an uncommon resource in most regions. Still, you're likely to find them growing from small yellow-leafed trees near or on top of the large chunks of sky island ruins that now rest in many places on the surface of Hyrule. For higher concentrations of Shock Fruit, a good bet is to make your way to East Necluda or Gerudo Desert, where they are most common, and search near large slabs of sky island stone ruins.

Shock Fruit Locations - Breman Peak

Until you can explore Gerudo Desert, a nice place to pick up at least fifteen Shock Fruit is near a few chunks of stone Sky Island ruins that rest on the surface near the small lake south of Breman Peak. You can reach this location, marked on the map above by the yellow leaf icons, by paragliding west from the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower.

When you're able to explore the Gerudo Desert, you can get up to at least thirty-three Shock Fruit around and inside a large gash in the landscape known as the Desert Rift, which is a little northeast of the Soryotanog Shrine in Gerudo Town. However, to gather from this location, we recommend picking up the Desert Voe Armor Set or cooking some heat-resistant foods to make the extreme heat less deadly. You'll also need to be cautious around the Gibdo that roam the desert and the rift.

Tips for Finding Shock Fruit

  • As you explore Hyrule, check near the large slabs of dark grey stone ruins that are usually covered with yellow grass or sand, as there's a good chance of finding an elemental fruit of some kind near them, including Shock Fruit.
  • Gerudo Desert is extremely hot, so getting the Desert Voe Armor Set or cooking heat-resistant food recipes will help you survive the heat considerably.
  • Unlock the Camera and Sensor+ upgrades for your Purah Pad so you can snap a photo of a Shock Fruit to add them to your Hyrule Compendium. Once you've done that, you can target Shock Fruit with the Purah Pad sensor, and it will ping you as you close in on their locations.

Shock Fruit Uses

Shock Fruit is versatile regarding uses, as it can make an excellent resource for combat and cooking. In action, you can attach Shock Fruit to your arrows and fire them at monsters to zap and disarm them with a powerful electrical blast, which is even more potent if the enemy is frozen or in water. Try first freezing enemies with an Ice Fruit and then hitting them with a Shock Fruit for an even larger electrical blast. And if you're out of arrows, you can always throw the fruit for a similar zapping effect.

On top of that, you can add Shock Fruit to any cooking recipe that needs fruit, giving the dish a Stormy Weather Attack effect, which will increase your attack damage during thunderstorms. And lastly, if you're looking to give your armor a dash of yellow color, you can use Shock Fruit as a dye ingredient at the Hateno Dye Shop.
