Der Begriff “Selbstfürsorge” ist im Allgemeinen ein Synonym für einen gesunden Lebensstil. Nach der Definition der WHO umfasst er das, was Menschen für sich selbst tun,
um Gesundheit herzustellen und zu erhalten sowie Krankheiten vorzubeugen und mit ihnen umzugehen. Beschlüsse zum Tag gibt es vom Senat der USA, Glückwunsche z.B. auch vom kanadischen Prmierminister Justin Trudeau. Auch die WHO hat mit einem Monat der Selbstfürsorge Stellung zum Thema bezogen.
