This was a good clean read. It did drag at times for me but overall it was a really good story. I would certainly recommend to others that enjoy Historical Western Romances.

This prodigal son of affluent parents is fleeing from the law and a a killer. John F. Sutton fell in love 💘with a young lady that his parents deemed not worthy of their son, but John married Byrony regardless of them. They'd been married around a year, when John arrived home from his job at his father's law firm and found the body of his wife. The police start eyeing John as a suspect because they don't have any leads in the case.
J.F. Sutton, his father has a a criminal lawyer come to the house to talk to John about his options. The attorney advises J.F. to have John go elsewhere for awhile. John takes the message to heart ❤ because he fears that between the police and the killer that his life is endangered from both directions if he stays.
John works at several different jobs and uses several different aliases while he's trying to stay away from the killer that has been pursuing him across the country.
John has become very lonely while on the run and comes up with the idea of a Mail order bride and contact is made between him and a young lady from England that is in dire need of an escape from her family and the man pursuing her for his own schemes.
Read the book and find out if John and his new wife are able to return to his family in New York, if the killer is ever caught, and if John returns to his father's law firm.

It's amazing what can happen when one communicates with their spouse! I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The descriptions were so good you could see them in your mind's eye and put you into the story. Ardelia lived in Manchester England and was mistreated by her family. After fighting off the advances of her sister's fiance' one day, her sister came upon them in the compromising position and blamed Ardelia. Her mother and sister made her life so miserable that she and her best friend, Rosellen, hatched a plot for her to become a mail order bride to escape them all.
John was a happily married attorney in Albany, NY, who came home one day to find his wife had been murdered. Due to the lack of any evidence, the police turned to John as the culprit. He counseled with his father, also an attorney, and decided to go on the run to try and find the real killer and bring him to justice.
These two are thrown together, both with secrets of their own. The story has several twists that I didn't see coming but ends with a HEA ending. There is an extended epilogue from 5 yrs later to wrap up the loose ends and was appreciated.

Quirks galore in this sweet read Ardelia and John had a rocky road ahead as a mail order bride beginning. Both had hidden secrets in their background which could break them apart. John required that they move at the drop of a hat, giving no explanation why. He also changed their names with every move. Adelia finally understood why her family was so disfunctional, b I had a hard time putting this one aside. It is heartwarming to read. I think you will like it if you give this book a try. I chose this book in a mass giveaway. I am looking forward to reading more of the series.
ut she was still affected by it. Getting John to open up to her about his past was key to having a chance of a real life together. How ever could that happen?

A well written story that will keep you guessing until the end, a book that held my interest from page to page. There is mystery , drama, suspense, moving across country, and romance a clean story that draws you in.John's first wife is murdered and he has been accused for her murder so he ran but he still wants answers of who did it. He marries Ardelia but they constantly move across country with John's search.

This is a well written historical romance with strong, well developed characters and an intriguing story line. The author does a great job building the story and pulling you in with her descriptive scenes along with all the twists, turns, suspense and action. She moves the story at a steady pace and had me hooked right to the end reading. I would recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Exciting Intrigue began in one country and ended in another. John & Ardelia found excitement in many towns but most of all in each other. I stayed up nights until I finished this book. A good page turner that kept me excited. Great read & I highly recommend it.

GREAT STORYLINE! This was an AMAZING STORY of arranged marriages and justice in America in the 1800's. The extended epilogue was great but.... It did not tell YOU of Deely's friend in England or what became of her inheritance!

This was a very good story and I really enjoyed it. It's Christian in that it's a clean book if you know what I mean. Other than that, there's really nothing about God in the book, so I won't be keeping it.

A Dangerous Road to Salvation A delightful but long story. It worked well for our road trip. I do recommend it but am left with questions: just how rich is she? Also what happened to that family?

ONE AWESOME READ!!!
Ok guys, I'm just going to jump in head first. I could tell you all about this book. I could say it's a great adventure. I could tell you how I felt like I was catipulted back to London in the great regency era. But come on guys. You've read the blurb. You've read what the other readers are saying. You know the score. But because I'm me. We'll do this my way. Lorelei never ceases to amaze me. If you're looking for a steady paced, smooth flowing read that grabs your attention right from the start. Then congratulations my friends you've found it. The characters and scenes were realistic and believable. The trials and tribulations were very personable and riveting. I was captivated following the characters as their personalities transformed and blended. The detailed descriptions were so vivid they painted an awesome picture. This read is so life like with all the emotions you'd expect from one of Lorelei's stories. My focus was on the pages as the world she pulled me into came alive before my eyes. Phenomenal job Lorelei, thanks for sharing.
