Armor sets (Enderal) (2024)

In Enderal, there are sixteen armor sets, which unlike any other piece of armor and combination, have a set bonus which has more effects as more items of the same set are equipped. Most of these sets can only be acquired by exploring the world. The most powerful sets can only be found by finding the blueprints and then using the handicraft skill to produce them, which requires a level of 75 or 80 in the skill.

The set bonuses depend on the amount of items equipped, not a specific item. The first set bonus in unlocked when two pieces are equipped, the second is unlocked with three pieces and so it goes on.

Ash Warrior[]

The set of the Ash Warrior a set of light armor suited for rogues who prefer to fight with a bow, but can also fight in hand-to-hand combat. This set is also good choice for warriors who prefer light armor.

When it comes to armor rating, the Ash Warrior provides a far higher base armor rating than the Venturer set and light armor bonus, which should be the ultimate set of a playstyle and be unrivalled compared to other sets. It also offers higher bonuses to bows and more damage for One-handed fighting. The Venturer does offer more unique bonuses, which are far harder to find on items. The Ash Warrior has somewhat high weight for the headgear, footwear and arm protection, but the body armor is especially heavy with a weight of 20 units and has the highest weight for all light armor sets.

Inodan[]

The set of Inodan is a set of heavy armour with many enchantments benefitting mages, but there are also enchantments suited for combat in general and warriors. The set items can't be found, instead one must find the blueprints and craft the pieces from materials, which requires a Handicraft of 80 for all items. Another requirement for the whole is to complete whole Rhalaim questline, including Dark Chambers of Our Mind, in which the blueprint for the gauntlets (one opportunity only) has to be found. The blueprint for the cape can be found in the Excavation Site, but that will remain accessible after the quest. The set has five items instead of the usual four, with the fifth item being the cape, which is also the most powerful of its kind.

The set is named after Inodan, a rocky island in the middle of the ocean and its the island where the Light-Born lived. Due to this set being the most powerful armor set for mages, it's considered apprioritate.

Rat Catcher[]

The Rat Catcher set is the first heavy armor warrior set available to the player. The upgrade materials are Iron Ingots and Leather. The body armor is the most difficult item to acquire of the set. This set gives greater bonuses to one-handed warriors, compared to two-handed warriors. The base damage increases the damage of all weapons by, thus an one-handed weapon will deal 13 points of damage when the Skin of the Rat Catcher is equipped. As the weapon is faster than two-handed weapon, it will now deal more damage quite faster. The set also gives more bonuses to one-handed damage.

The name of the set might be a reference to Nehrim, in which the starting player character must help with killing the rats and blocking the rat holes. Probably at this point, will wear a mix of heavy and light armor for protection if the player prefers heavy armor, which seems to be case for this armor.

Set bonuses:

  • I: Increases Health by 9 points.

Scarlett Night[]

Unlike all other armor sets, Scarlett Night can only be obtained by buying it from merchants starting at level 30 and they stop selling it around level 40. It's sold by merchants in usuasal goods such as Gabor Gaboff, Zorban & Sons. Northwind Camp and Kurro's General Store might also sell parts of the set. The armor rating of the set is above the North set and thus the third light armor set for rogues. The design of the armor is the same as the Dark Brotherhood set in Skyrim. All the pieces of the set are upgradable with Leather.

In case they don't appear in the shops, know that the game resets the stock and the amount of gold when the game is started up again. This way, it's possible potential find all four pieces without using console commands. It's unknown how much times it takes with this method and only checking Gaboff's Premium Wares and Zorkban & Sons.

Skaragg[]

The Skaragg set (Not to be confused with the light armor variant which has no set bonuses) is a set of heavy armor and the second strongest set for warriors. It will boost Heavy armor quite lot and it has two items which boost the Handicraft skill, which is handy for nearly every game. Also every item in the set has at least 4 enchantments. In terms of damage boosting, it offers better damage boosting abilties towards one-handed, due to the higher percentage bonus. And due to damage per hit, one-handed benefits percentage more from the static increasem*nt of 7 points and finally, because of the higher attack speed, it's more frequent.

Swashbuckler[]

The Swashbuckler set is the first set of light armor with bonuses which benefit rogues and warriors skilled in one-handed weapons. The Mysterious Nomad is meant for mages. It's upgrade material is Leather. The set is named after the Affinity class with the same name, which is a rogue skilled with a bow and accostumed to leather armor (Vagrant and Trickster). As such, the first name was the Well-traveled-one, but this was changed later to Swashbuckler.

  • II: Sneak is 5% more effective. Lockpicking is 5% easier.

Ideal collection route: At the start of the game, just after A New Beginning is finished, help Jespar Dal'Varek with investigation during The Void quest for the Footprints. With the investigation wrapped up, accompany him on his travel to Ark. After passing the Dual Towers and the first crossroad, you will come across the former Customs facilities by going south of the beaten path, where the gloves and headgear can be found. Jespar won't assist you in th exploration of the site.

Then head further east until you come across a quite large pond close the road. You can find the Rock Shelter dungeon nearby. Complete the dungeon with or without Wanted in Ark! active or go to the city and then head towards the Ark Crypt, where you probably have to perform a hit-and-run for the Heart, as the combatants in the dungeon are probably tougher than the player character is at this stage in the game.

Tracker[]

Tracker is the fourth set of light armor for rogues and competes with the Scarlett Night. The Tracker offers better protection, due to slightly higher armor ratings and a higher light armor bonus. It offers higher bonuses with a bow, at the expense of one-handed damage and critical hit chances of all attacks offered by Scarlett Night. The Tracker also offers better prices and Rhetoric. In terms of Sneak, the Tracker making sneaking better, while Scarlett adds an effect of making sneaking silent, so that's harder to compare. In terms of other bonuses, the sets compete quite fiercely with each other. Whether the one set or another is better, does depend on the rogue style of the player.

Its upgrade materials are Steel Ingots and Leather.

Do note that the Ash Warrior offers far higher armor rating than this set, but the enchantments and set bonuses can still make the Venturer better than the previous one, depending on preferences.

Set bonuses:

  • I: Increases Sleight of Hand by 9 points.
  • II: Increases critical hit chance by 10%
  • III: Increases the chance that the memory "Vagabond: High Dexterity" completely intercepts the damage from 10% to 20%.

The more rare enchantments which this set has are the properties of increasing the Enchanting skill and the property to boost Health regeneration, which means that food will heal the character out of combat significantly faster. The set offers many boosts in reducing mana costs, increasing mana regeneration speed and it offers a modest boost to magic resistance and the mana pool. The upgrade material is Leather and Shadow Steel Ingot, for all pieces, with only the Shadow requiring Leather.
