Is Dawnguard armor worth it? ›

When wearing a full set of armor (body armor, boots, gauntlets, and helmet), Dawnguard armors reduce incoming damage from vampires by 25% and the magnitude of hostile spells cast by vampires is reduced by 25%. Mixing the light and heavy sets will not confer the bonus, however.

Accepted Answer. You can get the armor and most basic crossbow and bolts from dead dawnguard members. You may also be able to calm the members of Fort Dawnguard and buy the unique spells. The improved crossbows are quest locked on the Dawnguard side and aren't available to you.

Dawnguard doesn't have any leveled gear, but Dragonborn has a couple items that cap at level 60. Neither have particularly good enchantments, but one is a unique sword with the highest base damage in the game when it's level 60.

While wearing a complete set of Dawnguard heavy armor, the armor grants 25% less damage from vampire attacks and drain life spells.

Overall, the physical rewards (weapons, etc) are better if you choose Dawnguard. However, you cannot regularly use the powerful Vampire Lord form until after you've completed the main questline, or else the Dawnguard members will not accept you.

There are no Dawnguard Swords. You do, however, get an improved enchanted version of both the Dawnguard Hammer and Axe.

While it is possible to turn your spouse into a vampire in the Dawnguard expansion, once you yourself have become a vampire, it isn't possible to marry someone who is already a vampire, like Serana. Fortunately, this is where fan mods come in to pick up the slack and give players what they want.

Even if you side with the Dawnguard, you can still become a Vampire Lord later, with the help of Serana before she is cured. However, you'll definitely be given access to Vampire Lord if you side with the Volkihar. Vampire Lord's enjoy the benefits and detriments of regular vampires, including the four stages.

You can buy it from the Eorland Graymane any time. It's called Wolf Armor and he has a full set.

Atar in Sanuarach Mine wears a full set after level 18. Rigel Strong-Arm in Pinewatch. Full sets are worn by bandit chiefs after level 18. You can kill Uthgerd and loot hers, and I think one of the npcs from Iron Bind Barrow has a full set at level 1 (have to kill her too).
